Lazarus practice focuses on social engagement of humanity. The power of feminine figure in the society. In his works he emphasizes on the contribution that comes about in bringing stability and balance to the world. In his expressions Lazarus uses his subjects to share his ideologies. Living and working in the informal settlement of mukuru slums he and fellow graduates from an art school on 2013 established wajukuu art project. Lazarus is a multidisciplinary artist he explores woodcut print, painting and found objects.
Lazarus believes through his inspirations and focusses will highlight and bring balance to his immediate surrounding community.
Lazarus is much involved in art-oriented activities art workshops facilitations, exhibitions among others
In 2022 lazarus & his fellow members of wajukuu arts participated in the Documenta15 Kassel where they went and won the Arnold bode prize. In 2017 OUT OF THE STREETS WAJUKUU arts group exhibition Germany. 2017 KUONA TRUST wajukuu art group exhibition curated by Danda Jaroljmek director circle art agency. 2017 & 2016 shortlisted manjano art competition organized by the Go Down art center.
